This South20 unique Sucupira hardwood-flooring product originates from the rain forest area of Brazil and surname.
It is common for the Sucupira tree to reach to l 30 ft in height with trunk diameters of 2.5 to 3 11. The wood product is produced by local natives specifically for South20 from the Sucupira tree that is native to these areas. South20 receives the material to the US in the form of raw cut lumber where it is placed in storage for air drying and kiln drying process. South20 will mill the lumber to specified dimensions to produce hardwood flooring and decking products.

General Characteristics:
The Sucupira product's Heartwood is a medium or dark brown to reddish brown with fine lighter colored stripes; its , sapwood is distinct, whitish or yellowish to cream. The luster is high with medium to coarse texture and its grain is straight or interlocked.

Drying and Shrinkage:
This Sucupira wood is reported to be easy to season with little tendency to warp or check. US kiln schedule T7-B3 for 4/4 to 6/4 stock. Slow air-drying is recommended prior to kiln-drying.
Working Properties:
The Sucupira is reported to be moderately difficult to work and it finishes smoothly. It is moderately easy to glue with care and finish satisfactorily. Clear oil works best to bring out color and longevity.
Durability:
This Sucupira product is durable as rated by field exposure trials. Heartwood is also rated resistant to very resistant to attack by decay fungi and termites. The product is resistant to water.
