  The Ipe product's Heartwood is light to dark olive brown often with lighter or darker streaks. Sapwood is clearly distinct, yellowish to light beige around 2-9cm. The texture is fine to medium; luster low to medium; grain straight to very irregular and rather oily looking.

  This Tropical Exotic Hardwood product's Heartwood is salmon red to orange-brown when fresh, becoming russet to reddish brown when seasoned, often marked with dark streaks. Sapwood is usually wide, white, gray, or pinkish. The texture is medium to rather coarse, grain mostly interlocked with golden luster.

  The Cumaru product's Heartwood is a beige brown with yellow or purplish pink tinge becoming red brown with age. Its sapwood is distinct, narrow, yellowish brown. The luster is rather low to medium with fine texture and its grain is interlocked.

  The Basralocus product's Heartwood is reddish brown gray to reddish or yellowish brown sharply demarcated from narrow brownish-white sapwood. The Texture is medium with unusual subsurface luster; grain is usually straight and somewhat interlocked. Vessels are prominent as long brown lines on side grain producing an attractive figure.
