South20 aids in the efforts of local governments in South America to develop and implement applicable natural resource conservation and utilization practices. These efforts and the quality of South20 products creates valuable, long-lasting woods and relationships with our customers and business partners from the forest to you.

South20 produces two primary products of high quality; the reknowned EnduraShake roofing material and our all natural hardwood plank flooring. Materials for these all natural hardwoods are produced primarily in three locations from the forests of South America. For the production of South20 products we are responsible for employment of many local peoples of South America, sometimes numbering in excess of 200 natives. These people are directly employed by our associates in country and in many cases provide them with their only source of financial employment in the region. We at South20 are loyal to these people and in turn they provide quality woods for our products. Our people, who have lived and worked in these forests for generations, have the knowledge and expertise to hand pick trees with minimal disturbance to the remaining natural resource base while enhancing the regenerative processes.

For our South20 EnduraShake, the people select a specific tree species throughout large swaths of forest. The EnduraShake is hand hewn in the forest, bundled together and carried out to our shipping and staging areas. All of the products for the South20 hardwood flooring material are selected in much the same way. Our on-site teams have the knowledge of selecting the proper tree for the given species of flooring offered by South20. This is a knowledge-set handed down from generation to generation. The trees used in flooring are felled and the logs are taken to the South20 associates log mill for process of cutting to raw sawn lumber. This is then shipped to our location in Oklahoma. Once the product is received in Oklahoma it begins its long process of drying. This generally requires a 90 to 120 day air and kiln drying process before South20 allows the wood to be milled for flooring. The speed of drying is closely monitored to ensure the minimization of warpage and maximization of quality flooring material. We constantly strive to lower costs and pass this savings to our customers.

Thank you for your interest in our products.
